Are you a person that has complex emotions at the thought of Mother’s Day?
 
So usually whenever I do paintings, I release them in series at an art show. As many of you are aware Mother’s Day in America is coming up. Usually whenever Mother’s Day is talked about, it’s always referred to as a super happy day, and for many it is. The other side of the coin is that Mother’s Day can be very hard for many many people. This particular painting was especially inspired by someone in my circle. It was really important to me that light is shed on the complexities of Mother’s Day.
 
Look out for specific details such as the look on the chickens face, the lack of significant detail and the chicks below her, the plant growing out of a broken egg, and the blood streak running down by the corner, accented by the splatter and gold touches.
