Collection: Tribal
Inspiration: The crisis in identity stems from a lack of foundational knowledge.
Who am I?
Where did I come from?
Who am I choosing to be?
"Where there is no vision, my people perish"
February is known as Black History Month. I used this month to announce an ongoing collection because of the identity crisis within the black community due to the ruptured history. As a Nigerian American who was born in Nigeria, migrated as a young child, raised by first gen immagrants in a world where home was african and the world was american, identity crisis reaches.
I know this issue extends beyond the black community but they are the most recent group of people ruptured by systemic racism within the states.
